I was lucky enough to get my hands on the new Laifen High-Speed Hair Dryer SE 2. Offering a powerful fast drying experience with less potential for heat damage, I was eager to see how it lived up to the hype.
First Impressions: Sleek, Smart Design
Right out of the box, the Laifen SE 2 impresses. It’s a compact yet powerful tool that feels beautifully engineered and light in the hand. The design is sleek and minimal, you’ll find two main controls: one for power and airflow speed, and another to cycle through the temperature settings.
I particularly like its intuitive LED light ring, which changes colour to indicate the active temperature mode. It’s a simple, visual way to know exactly what you’re getting:
• Red: Hot air for rapid drying.• Yellow: Warm air, perfect for regular drying and styling.
• Blue: A cool shot to lock in your style.
• Multicoloured: A temperature-cycling mode (accessed with a long press) that alternates between hot and cold air.

Versatility with a Snap
My young children were particularly excited to help unbox this product, and connect the magnetic nozzles. These attachments connect to the dryer with a satisfying snap, making it incredibly easy to switch them out. The three included nozzles cover a range of styling needs:

The Family Test
