There's nothing better than a good night’s sleep, but new research from Sheridan reveals our bedding may be quietly sabotaging it. In fact, 43% of Australians say their bedding disrupts their sleep at least weekly, whether from overheating, discomfort, or endless quilt readjustments.

For those who share a bed, comfort isn’t just personal, it’s negotiated. The research shows 71% of bed-sharers don’t sleep at the same temperature, turning many bedrooms into a nightly hot-and-cold compromise.

Quilt stealing is also widespread with 78% of Aussies who share a bed with someone else admitting it happens at least occasionally, and one in ten dealing with it every night! Unsurprisingly, over half (51%) of bed-sharers have considered, tried or adopted separate bedding.

In response to Australia’s bespoke sleep needs, Sheridan is relaunching its Bed Foundations category. Leading the relaunch is the Custom Comfort Quilt System a first-of-its-kind design that allows sleepers to easily adjust using an intuitive clip system to suit changing seasons, sleep temperatures and personal preferences.

Bed Foundations highlights include:

  • Custom Comfort clippable quilts, allowing sleepers to add or remove warmth instantly. Whether you run hot, cold or change with the seasons, your perfect sleep is just a clip away.

  • Innovative half quilts, recognise that no two people sleep the same, especially when sharing a bed! The new design enables partners to tailor warmth on their side of the bed and say goodbye to wrestling for the quilt or kicking it off during the night.

  • Bed Foundations packaging simplifies bedding with two clear quilt weights — medium and light — and intuitive colour-coded packaging inspired by the Australian landscape. Each product comes in a reusable cotton bag.

Lyndon Cheney, Designer at Sheridan said, “Our research shows Australians are already changing their quilts, with 69% doing so at least once a year, and many doing so repeatedly throughout the year (25%). But constant swapping isn’t solving the problem. That’s why we’ve focused on flexible, customisable bedding that adapts night to night, not just season to season.”

The new Bed Foundations collection of quilts, pillows, protectors and blankets is designed to deliver truly customisable comfort whether sleeping solo or finding smarter ways to share a bed.

The refreshed range now is available to shop online at sheridan.com.au and across all Sheridan Boutique stores.

Select items from the collection will be available to shop in-store at Myer and David Jones, with the entire collection available to shop online from both retailers.
